Module summary
The module focuses on the student’s personal and professional development in preparation for graduation from the Course. There is particular emphasis on the development of graduate skills and competencies with a focus on the management and leadership of others. Emergent graduate skills are developed to prepare the student for professional practice and/or further studies.

Learning Outcomes LO1 - 4
Balance of independent study and scheduled teaching activity
The use of case studies, scenarios and narratives will be at the heart of the delivery of this module. This will allow students to revisit more detailed versions of scenarios presented previously in the course and also examine the same scenarios in other concurrent modules. Students' learning will be structured around the weekly contact time with the teaching team and will be complemented by the students' independent work based on the guidance supplied in lectures, group work, and interactive workshops. Enquiry based learning and experiential learning methods will be used to help students to integrate theoretical concepts.
Students will be required to engage continuously and constructively with the module. Every week, students will be required to read recommended chapters in textbooks, to access Weblearn & wider online materials.
Learning outcomes
1. Demonstrate a critical awareness of the value of management and leadership skills in professional practice settings;
2. Develop the ability to understand and analyse the organisational and managerial context as it relates to the delivery of services and to professional practice within dynamic changing environments in the health and social care field;
3. Consider the relevance of ethical decision making in relation to the management and leadership of others.
4. Develop awareness of current trends in the management of health and social care setting in order to inform future personal and professional development.
Assessment strategy
The student will develop a formative piece of coursework highlighting intended personal and professional development strategies (diary entry). The summative assessment is an online group presentation which develops learning outcomes 1-4.
