About the course and its strategy towards teaching and learning and towards blended learning/e-learning

This course offers the chance to gain an overview of the landscape of contemporary communications. The course is international in its focus, looking at media and communications globally, and from theoretical perspectives. It is for graduates who are looking for a career in media including film, television, radio and journalism, as well as those wanting a more 'commercial' career in public relations, business communications and publicity. The course is suited to students who are interested in the broad scope of media and communications, including marketing, branding and sales, as well as how electronic media such as television, film and computer-mediated social networks operate. Three core modules focus on globalization, communication theory and researching media and communications. Students also choose from a wide range of modules which offer the opportunity to specialize within the course as a whole, culminating in an MA dissertation.

Course structure:

The MA in Media and Communications follows a set pattern of 3 Cores, 3 Options and a triple-weighted Dissertation module.

Students will be required to choose 3 optional modules of which at least 2 must be designated options while one may be an electivemoduleselected from all level 7 modules in the University.
