Module summary
Day one- introduction to the module, history and context of social housing, aims of the housing service, good practice, repairs and maintenance
Day two- housing finance, dealing with ASB, resident involvement
Day three- law and tenancy, performance management
Module aims
The aims of the course are to:
1. Develop the knowledge of residents on the context to social housing and the aims of their landlord;
2. Enable residents to identify good practice in terms of the delivery of housing services;
3. Develop resident skills in improving the performance of their landlord; and
4. Provide information and skills that will enable residents to challenge the performance of their landlords in an assertive and productive way.

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this short course, participants will be able to:
1. Place housing service delivery in a wider social and organisational context;
2. Identify sources of best practice in delivery of housing services;
3. Understand performance management processes and information; and
