What is the National Student Survey?

The National Student Survey (NSS) is your opportunity to give your opinions on what you loved about your time at London Metropolitan University, as well as on what you feel we could improve on. It takes place every year and asks questions about your entire experience at the University, from the skills you have improved to the advice you have received.

The survey is quick to complete, starts on the 7th February 2011 and is open until the end of April 2011.

Why is it relevant to me?

The survey is important as it helps potential future students and their advisors make informed choices of what and where to study. The results are also used to help the University make improvements in areas you care about and keep doing the things you value most, so your opinion will help shape London Met. The results of the survey, based on your responses, are published nationally on Unistats.com and contribute to University league table rankings.

We are also offering 36 cash prizes to be won by those who complete the survey. Each eligible student who fills in the survey will automatically be entered into the cash prize draw made up of:

  • 1 x £500
  • 5 x £100
  • 10 x £50
  • 20 x £25

Good luck!

Who can complete the survey?

Students studying on courses leading to undergraduate credits or qualifications (such as Bachelors Degrees, Foundation Degrees, Higher Education Certificates and Diplomas) will be surveyed in their final year of study. The survey is carried out by Ipsos MORI, an independant Market Research organisation, and if you are selected to take part in the survey you will receive an email on the 7th February 2011 inviting you to complete it. You can also go directly to www.thestudentsurvey.com to complete the survey or to find out more.

There are a number of other ways to give your feedback to the University (whether you are in the National Student Survey sample or not) also: through your Student Academic Representatives (StARs), module feedback feedback forms, the Students' Union or by talking to a member of staff! We want to listen to your thoughts so please let us know what we are doing well and what we aren't.

Has anything happened as a result of last year's National Student Survey?
